FREE Bell Ringer on the Printing Press

The Printing Press was created by Johannes Gutenberg (1400-1468). This machine used moveable metal type that could be arranged and pressed on paper to print pages for books. Gutenberg lived in Germany. One of the first books mass produced on the moveable metal type Printing Press was the Bible in the Vulgate Latin version. The Printing Press revolutionized the world. Before this time, the world’s books had to be hand written by copyists. This was a grueling, time consuming endeavor. With the invention of the Printing Press, books could be made quickly and sold at a reasonable price. Humanity’s understanding of science, literature, and other fields drastically increased because of Gutenberg’s Printing Press. By 1450, the Printing Press was fully operational and the world was never the same because of it.  The Protestant Reformation would not have been possible without this invention. Martin Luther’s ideas were able to spread quickly due to the Printing Press.
